Meet Our Staff

My name is Michelle and I am the Co-Owner and Co-Founder of Cedar Mountain Candle. You can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl. I think the saying goes something like that!
Growing up in rural West Virginia and raised on a farm, working hard during the day and enjoying a nice bonfire night runs in my blood. Around 2005 (give or take a year or so), I met a guy that would change my whole world. I moved to Georgia and married the man of my dreams who would take me on an epic journey of being a military spouse. I had to begin learning life all over again: away from family and life-long friends, while adapting to deployments and all the craziness that goes along with a military lifestyle.
I have always been independent (and stubborn) by nature, but this journey has certainly given strength to my backbone. While I 10,000% support my husband in every step of the way, I wanted a career of my own. I was a banker before I moved to Georgia, and I have carried that career with me for 17 years. Along with co-owning Cedar Mountain Candle, I am the SVP of Business Integration & Strategies Manager for Bank of America. Between it all, she still finds time to pack up her “kids” (two rottweilers) and head off to Cedar Mountain, in Southern Utah. Afterall, it is her favorite place to be!

Hi, I’m IV. Well, ok let’s clarify one thing that everyone always asks: Why IV? My real name is Franz Workman IV (the fourth). So instead of going by Franz, I have always been called IV. Now that we got that straight, I’m also the Co-Owner and Co-Founder of Cedar Mountain Candle. I was born and raised in the hills of West Virginia and worked on a friend's hay farm while growing up, but never in a million years believed that one day I would be making candles. But more on that later.
With my eye on a pretty little girl named Michelle, I made a tough decision to join the Air Force in 2005 and became a helicopter flight engineer on HH-60G Pavehawks. My mission is combat search and rescue, which in my 15 years of service has involved everything from hurricane evacuations from Ike and Gustov in Texas to rescuing wounded soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq, and everything else in between.
The military has moved Michelle and I from Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Georgia to now living in Las Vegas, Nevada and stationed at Nellis Air Force Base. While living in Las Vegas has been great, it never really scratched the itch to enjoy the mountains again. That is until we started exploring Utah. From there, we discovered Cedar Mountain and we felt right back at home. So when we decided to start the candle company, Cedar Mountain Candle was born.
Of course standing right beside me has been my amazing wife, and together, we have been tackling the world. We balance a life in the Active Duty Air Force, an executive with Bank of America, and of course Cedar Mountain Candle. Together we absolutely deliver the most amazing candles. Our country roots show in each and every candle that we make. From the designs that we create and the scents that we choose, it has our little touch home in everyone of them.
Here is our amazing staff.
